As we approach the start of school, our staff are excitedly preparing and planning for what’s to come in the 2024-25 school year. In this edition of #265FamilyNews, you will find information and resources to help you navigate the start of the year, including Returning Student Registration, 2024-25 Free/Reduced-Price Meal Application, school supply lists and Backpack-to-School school supply drive information, sports physicals for student athletes, Goddard Hall of Fame honorees, partnership opportunities with the Goddard Education Foundation and more.

Returning Students Must Complete Online Verification

If you have not already completed the returning student online verification, please log into Skyward Family Access to do so at this time. All returning students are required to fill out this information annually.

Free/Reduced-Price Meal Application Now Available

If you feel your family would benefit from the Free/Reduced-Price School Meals Program, the 2024-25 Free/Reduced-Price Meal Application can be found here. If you are not able to access the application from a computer, you can pick up a paper application at any school building, or from the District Administration Center (201 S. Main St. Goddard, KS 67052). You may also contact Pam Schmidt, Assistant Director of Nutrition Services, at 316-794-4033 to get a paper application emailed or mailed to you. More information regarding loading funds onto your student’s meal account will be available soon and communicated to all families.

School Supply Lists & Backpack-to-School Donation Drive

All (K-8) school supply lists are now available! If your family is in need of school supplies, please mark your calendar to stop by Pathway Church in Goddard from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024. At this Backpack-to-School event, students will choose a backpack and fill it with the school supplies they need for a successful start to the school year. USD 265 Mobile App

Goddard Public Schools launched a mobile app last summer to provide students, parents, and community members a one-stop-shop to know what is happening at school from their phones. Access the following, and more, directly from your child(ren)'s school:

Bus Routes AND Student Schedules Available in Skyward Monday, August 5th

Last week, you received THIS NEWSLETTER from Sean Hollas, Director of Transportation, with information about bus routes and how to make changes to your child(ren)’s transportation for the upcoming school year. You will receive an email when you can access your child(ren)'s class schedule and bus route information, when it becomes available in Skyward Family Access on Monday, August 5th, 2024.

Open House & First Day of School Reminders

All open house events take place at your student's respective school on Thursday, August 8th, 2024.

The elementary and intermediate school Open House events will be held from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

The middle and high school Open House events will be held from 5:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

We are excited to welcome students for the first day of school on Monday, August 12th, 2024.

Sports Physicals for 2024-25 School Year

The Goddard Education Foundation (GEF) is partnering with Vrana Chiropractic and Light House Chiropractic again to offer $25.00 sports physicals for Goddard Public Schools students for the 2024-25 school year. 100% of the proceeds from sports physicals scheduled between NOW and August 9th, at either location, will be donated directly to impact the students in our #265Family. Goddard Education Foundation Announces Hall of Fame, Class of 2024

The Goddard Education Foundation is thrilled to announce the Goddard Public Schools Hall of Fame, Class of 2024! Congratulations to Jeff Berblinger (Class of 1989), ^Dennis Cavalier (Former Educator and Coach), Charles Edmonds (Former Superintendent), Nancy Fredrickson (Former Educator), Crystal Krier (Class of 1981), and Max & Deb Ogden (Class of 1969 & 1972). ^recognized posthumously

The GEF established the Goddard Hall of Fame Award in 2018 as a way to celebrate and honor the achievements of Goddard Public Schools alumni, staff, and friends who are making a difference.
