Fall is here and the end of the quarter is coming fast!

Attendance in school is so important. Missing just two days a month adds up to 18 days a school year-which is like missing a whole month of school. We want to support and promote attendance at school. Each quarter, starting 2nd quarter, we will recognize students that have perfect attendance and almost perfect attendance. The criteria is listed below:
- Pancakes w/ the Principal–students and parents will be invited to eat breakfast with Mrs. Hay if you have 100% attendance & no tardies for each quarter.
- Hall of Fame - For students with 2 or less absences & 3 or less tardies each quarter their picture will be displayed on a board in the school and on our website.
Grandparent’s Day will be October 14th and 15th. Check out the specifics on our website, Facebook page and on the Amelia Earhart PTO Facebook page.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be on October 16th and 17th from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. There will be no school on October 18th.

Fun facts about sneezing!

Sneezing is a full body workout -Sneezing involves the throat, chest, diaphragm, and abdomen.

A sneeze can travel up to 100 miles per hour.

A sneeze can produce up to 40,000 droplets that can travel up to five feet and stay airborne for minutes!

Sneezing is impossible during sleep- The nerves that trigger sneezing are dormant while you sleep.

About one in four people sneeze due to sunlight.

Remember to sneeze into your elbow or a tissue. With flu season coming let’s keep those germs at bay!

Mrs. Benteman's Corner

This month we are talking about Responsibility.

How can we be Responsible as a family? Responsibility is taking action and understanding the impact of
our choices. Choose 1 household chore (or more!)
that requires multiple steps. Then have each member of the family select 1 step
to complete to help get the job done! Maybe it’s washing the dishes, doing
laundry, cleaning the living room, or unloading the groceries – whatever it is,
see who can be the quickest or most effective at their task!

Help your kids understand the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people and irresponsible actions can hurt others.

A message from the office

We appreciate all of our families for continuing to use our QR codes and communicating about transportation changes! This helps us keep your kiddos safe and ensures a smooth dismissal for all! Keep an eye out for information coming home this month about Fall parties, Red Ribbon week, and volunteer opportunities around the building.

Consistent attendance not only helps students stay on track with their learning but also fosters important social skills and relationships with peers and teachers. Each day in the classroom presents unique opportunities for interaction, engagement, and growth that cannot be replicated at home. We understand that circumstances may sometimes make attendance challenging. If your child is facing any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support you!
