A message from Mrs. Hay

The conferences were amazing!.  We had a great turnout.  94% of the Earhart families attended conferences.  We also had a record breaking book fair, selling more than any other book fair at Earhart.  Our total sales amount was $22,456.65, which is the highest fair we've ever done. We are  thrilled to share that we had 47 gift certificates purchased for our staff by parents and grandparents in the amount of $1,965.00! We loved seeing all of the grandparents during Grandparent’s Days.  Thank you again for supporting your students and the Amelia Earhart community.

Our Character Trait for the Month of November is Gratitude. Gratitude means thanks and appreciation.  You can use lots of words to describe feelings of gratitude: thankful, fortunate, humbled, and appreciative.  In this season of thanksgiving take some time to show gratitude and appreciation to someone in your life. See the attached fliers for more information.

Staff have a way of showing gratitude to students by filling out a Positive Office Referral.  Students that receive this get a phone call home, an EAR HERO t-shirt, a token for a free meal at Texas Roadhouse, and their picture on a bulletin board in the school.

We want to extend the Positive Office Referral to EAR staff.  Students, staff and parents can fill out a Positive Office Referral for any staff member in the building.  That staff member will get a phone call home (if they choose), a special treat from the EAR office and their picture on a bulletin board in the building. This is a great way to recognize staff members for their hard work and dedication to the EAR community.  If you would like to fill out a form for a staff member please download the attachment & email back to myself, or stop by the EAR office to pick up a copy. You can find the editable template HERE

The 3rd grade Veteran’s Day Program will be Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 pm.

Thanksgiving break is November 24th-28th.  There will be no school that week.

Warm Regards,

Marney Hay

A message from the office

Hello Cub Families!

November is here, which means crisp air, warm coats… and just a few slices of pie (strictly for educational purposes, of course). In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we want to extend a huge thank you to all of our families for your constant support. We’re extra grateful for you — and for elastic waistbands!

Lost & Found
Our lost and found is growing faster than a Thanksgiving dinner plate! Jackets, coats, hats, lunchboxes, water bottles — you name it, it’s probably in there. Please remind your student to take a peek regularly. With colder weather arriving, we want to make sure every one of our Cubs is warm and ready for winter.

Transportation Reminders
As always, thank you for keeping the office updated on any transportation changes — it helps us ensure all students get home safely. We truly appreciate your communication and teamwork!

Checking Students In & Out
A friendly reminder that all students must be signed in or out when arriving late, leaving early, or being picked up for lunch. This can be done quickly using the QR code or our office laptop. If grandparents or other special guests are visiting, please let them know about the sign-in process as well so we can keep everything running smoothly.

Student Fees
Please keep an eye out — an email regarding Student Fees will be going out soon. This message will include important details on any outstanding balances and payment options. We appreciate your prompt attention when it arrives!

Flu Season Is Here!

With flu season already starting, now is the best time to practice some simple healthy habits to help keep everyone feeling their best:
Wash your hands often-especially before eating and after using the restroom. Sneeze or cough into your elbow or a tissue Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.

Did You Know?
The flu spreads faster in winter — but not because of the cold! Cold air dries out your nasal passages, and people spend more time indoors, which helps the virus spread. The influenza virus also survives longer in cool, dry air. Keep humidifiers running and open your windows every couple of days to get some fresh air circulating!

Common Flu Symptoms (Symptoms often come on suddenly.)

  • Fever and chills  Headache

  • Sore throat and cough

  • Body aches and feeling exhausted

Remember the 24-Hour Rule:
Students must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

Counselor Corner

Counselor’s Corner – November Focus: Gratitude
This month, we’re focusing on Gratitude — recognizing and appreciating the good around us and the people who make a difference in our lives. Practicing gratitude helps children build stronger relationships, develop empathy, and find joy in everyday moments. Encourage your child to share one thing they’re thankful for each day — big or small!
