A message from Mrs. Hay

What a fantastic year!  I want to thank you for supporting Amelia Earhart this year.  We love your children and work hard to help them be the best they can be.

Earhart PTO is holding our final fundraising event of the year.  Please make sure to read the emails from PTO and sign up at mybooster.com.

Amelia Earhart Elementary School has been named a 2025-2026 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School, a prestigious honor awarded to campuses that demonstrate excellence in building a culture where students feel safe, connected, and engaged.

The Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award recognizes schools that go above and beyond in creating an environment where students thrive academically and emotionally. Through the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process, educators at Earhart have been equipped with relationship-building tools and processes that help them foster student success and a positive campus culture.

Each year, Capturing Kids’ Hearts recognizes schools across the country for their commitment to transforming their campus environments through a relational approach to education. Schools that receive this designation have shown measurable progress in student connectedness, academic achievement, and overall school culture.

Have a great summer!

A message from the office

It’s hard to believe that May is here and we are down to just a few short days left together this school year. This time always brings a mix of excitement and a little bit of sadness as we wrap up such a special year.

To our incredible 4th grade students- we will miss you so much! You have made a lasting impact on our school, and while we are sad to see you go, we are so excited for what lies ahead. As you head off to Challenger Intermediate for the next two years, we know you will continue to grow, learn, and absolutely thrive. Please remember, you will always have a home here at Earhart, come back and visit anytime!

To all of our families, thank you. We have truly felt your support, kindness, and partnership throughout the year. We say it often because it’s true...we have the BEST families at Earhart, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Returning Student Registration will be open May 4th! Please make sure you re-register your student if you are planning to return to the Goddard School District. This helps with planning classrooms and numbers. June 5th is the final deadline to register your student for the upcoming 26-27 school year. ALL returning students will need to have this completed.

As we head into our final weeks, we also have several field trips coming up! Please be sure to connect with your child’s teacher if you have any questions regarding trip details, times, or expectations.

We are also looking forward to Field Day on May 6th and are hoping for beautiful weather!

Field Day Schedule:

Kindergarten & 1st Grade: 9:20–11:00 AM

2nd–4th Grade: 12:30–2:30 PM

As long as the weather cooperates, parents are welcome to come watch students participate in Field Day! We kindly ask that only one guardian per student attend and that siblings stay home.

If Field Day needs to be moved indoors due to weather, unfortunately, parents will not be permitted to attend due to space limitations, and the schedule/activities may be adjusted.

Field Day lunch schedule is different also. Please take a look at this lunch schedule change for Wednesday, May 6th:

Lunch A- 11-11:25:

4th grade, Kohlman, Maley

Lunch B- 11:30-11:55:

3rd grade, Zoglman, Mies

Lunch C- 12-12:25 - NONE

Lunch D - 12:30-12:55

1st Grade

Lunch E- 1:00-1:25

End-of-Day Pickups
Please remember that there are no office pickups after 3:45 PM due to bus dismissal procedures.

Reporting Absences
If your student will be absent, please call the office to notify us.
A doctor’s note is required if a student is out for more than three consecutive days.

Student Fees
Student fees can be paid by logging into Skyward and selecting “Fees and Fee Payments.”

Authorized Visitors & Pickups
If a family member is picking up your student or joining them for lunch and they are not listed in Skyward, we must have written approval from you ahead of time before they can enter the building or take your student.

Thank you again for an amazing year. We are so proud of our students and grateful for our community. Let’s enjoy these final days together!

As we head into the warmer months, it’s the perfect time for students to enjoy the outdoors and stay active! With more time spent outside, please remember the importance of sun safety- apply sunscreen before school, consider sending a hat, and encourage your child to stay hydrated by bringing a water bottle each day. Light, breathable clothing and proper footwear can also help keep kids comfortable during outdoor play.

Summer is also a great time to build healthy habits! Encourage plenty of physical activity, balanced meals, and good sleep routines to keep your child feeling their best. Be mindful of common seasonal concerns like insect bites, allergies, and dehydration. A little preparation goes a long way in making sure everyone has a safe, fun, and healthy summer!

Counselor Corner

Summer can quickly fill up with sports, vacations, camps, and changing schedules, which can make it feel a little chaotic for kids. While all of these experiences are exciting, big shifts in routine can sometimes lead to new or challenging behaviors. I encourage families to keep a few simple structures in place, such as consistent morning routine, daily task, and clear expectations to help provide stability and keep kids feeling grounded.
If your child is feeling anxious about the change in routine, know that this is completely normal. You can help by talking through what their days might look like, creating a simple schedule together, and giving them something predictable to look forward to each day. Maintaining a few familiar routines from the school year can also provide comfort and stability.

Summer is also a great time to support your child’s emotional well-being. Keep communication open, check in on how they’re feeling, and create opportunities for connection- whether that’s family time, outdoor play, or trying something new together. Encouraging independence, problem-solving, and responsibility in small ways can also build confidence heading into the next school year.

Don’t forget to keep young minds active! Reading regularly, journaling, or practicing basic math skills can help prevent the “summer slide” and make the transition back to school smoother. Some of their Clever (school apps) activities are active through June.

Most importantly, make time for fun and relaxation. Unstructured play, creativity, and downtime are just as important as planned activities. A balanced summer helps students return to school feeling refreshed, confident, and ready to learn.
