A message from Mrs. Hay

Greetings Earhart Families:

So many great things are happening in our building in 2025!  The February character trait of the month is Kindness/Honesty.  We will have Valentine’ Day parties on February 14th at 2:45 pm.  We will be sending a link soon to sign up if you are attending parties.  We end the month with conferences on February 26th and 27th.  You can start signing up for conferences on February 3rd.

Kindness changes things.  How can we make kindness a part of our lives everyday?  What are the different ways you can show kindness?  Some examples are:

  1. Write someone a thank you note.

  2. Pick up litter.

  3. Compliment a friend.

  4. Bake a treat and deliver it to your neighbors.

  5. Talk to someone new.

  6. Smile at everyone you see.

  7. Cook or help cook dinner tonight.

  8. Read a book to someone.

Attendance in school is so important.  Missing just two days a month adds up to 18 days a school year-which is like missing a whole month of school.  Did you know that, starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school. Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read. If you need any help or support with student attendance and tardies, please reach out to the school to see how we can help.

A message from the office

Please make sure you are calling or emailing the office and or teachers with any transportation changes. This helps keep dismissal safe for everyone. Please make all transportation changes before or NO LATER than 3:30. For safety reasons, if you are picking your student up from the office, please do so before 3:45. After 3:45 we ask that you go through the car line.

If your student will be absent, please email or call the office to have the absence excused.

We have started to implement new process for entering the building during parties and events! To keep our students, staff, and building safe we will require everyone to sign up prior to the event. We will be sending out an email for Valentines Day Parties soon!

We have been seeing a steady increase of fevers, stomach aches, sore throat and coughs and more calls of positive Influenza and stomach viruses at home.  One of the best ways to help protect yourself and others from getting sick is to wash your hands, stay hydrated and get plenty of rest every night. Please remember the 24-hour rule for vomiting, diarrhea and fever. Students should not be sent to school as long as these symptoms have resolved for 24 hours and fever free WITHOUT medication for 24 hours.

This month’s focus is Honesty. One way to think about Honesty is “being truthful in what you
say and do.” Practicing Honesty helps strengthen our relationships and even reduces
stress.

●Can you share or show what it means to practice Honesty?
● What is 1 way you can be more Honest with others?
