Greetings Earhart Families:

As we prepare for the upcoming Winter Break and Holiday Season, we continue to think about and reflect on the many successes and achievements of our students, staff, and school community during this school year. Our students make us so proud, and we truly appreciate your continued support and partnership in everything we do.  Our character trait of the month is Empathy.  Please check out the attached flier for more information.

We also wanted to provide you with a few reminders about some important dates:

  • The end of the quarter and semester is December 20th.

  • Our office will be closed from December 23rd-January 3rd.

  • Students will return for their first day of school after the break on January 7th.

  • Report cards will be posted on Skyward Wednesday, January 8th.

  • Attendance in school is so important.  Missing just two days a month adds up to 18 days a school year-which is like missing a whole month of school.  We want to support and promote attendance at school. Each quarter, starting 2nd quarter, we will recognize students that have perfect attendance and almost perfect attendance.  The criteria is listed below:

    • Pancakes w/ the Principal–students and parents will be invited to eat breakfast with Mrs. Hay if you have 100% attendance & no tardies for each quarter.

    • Hall of Fame - For students with 2 or less absences & 3 or less tardies each

We hope that you and your family have a safe, fun, and restful Winter Break.

A message from the office is written in the middle. on the left and right side are christmas trees with stars. from the top of the page hang blue and silver christmas ornamen ts

Bandage Banter with Nurse Kenzie

What’s going around at Earhart?

We have been seeing an increase in respiratory illnesses like influenza and pneumonia for the past few weeks and this is expected to increase over the holiday breaks. The symptoms of many respiratory viruses share common symptoms, like coughing, sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, fever, and chills. Other symptoms include fatigue (tiredness), decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and muscle or body aches.

Please remember to stay home if you have a fever, vomiting or diarrhea and remain home until these symptoms have resolved for 24 hours after using any fever reducing medicine.

If you would like to send over the counter medication/cough drops with your student please contact the office or me(Nurse Kenzie) and we can discuss the protocol. All over the counter medication including cough drops need to stay in the health room during the school day.

This month’s focus is Empathy.
One way to think about
Empathy is “understanding and connecting with other people’s feelings.” Empathy is a practice that can help us grow strong relationships.

Conversation Starters:
●What does Empathy
look like to you?

● Is it hard for you to
share how you feel
with others? Why or
why not?

A message from the office

Just a few reminders as we enter the end of the year!

Please make sure you are calling or emailing the office and or teachers with any transportation changes. This helps keep dismissal safe for everyone. Please make all transportation changes before or NO LATER than 3:30.

If your student will be absent, please email or call the office to have the absence excused.

We are going to implement new process for entering the building during parties and events! To keep our students, staff, and building safe we will require everyone to sign up prior to the event. We will be sending more information on this soon!

Make sure to follow us on Facebook for updates and photos!
