A message from Mrs. Hay

Greetings Earhart Families:

As we prepare for the upcoming Winter Break and Holiday Season, we continue to think about and reflect on th many successes and achievements of our students, staff, and school community during this school year. Our students make us so proud, and we truly appreciate your continued support and partnership in everything we do.  Our character trait of the month is Empathy.  Please check out the attached flier for more information.

We also wanted to provide you with a few reminders about some important dates:

The end of the quarter and semester is December 19th.

Our office will be closed from December 22nd-January 5th.

Students will return for their first day of school after the break on January 6th.

The last day for the Monart afterschool art program is January 12th (the end of session 2).  Earhart will not have Monart for sessions 3 and 4.  If you are interested in the program at another building please contact www.theartparkwichita.com/classes.

We have a process at school called a Positive Office Referral for students.  Any staff member can nominate a student to receive this recognition.  The student gets a positive phone call home, an Earhart HERO t-shirt, a token for a free meal at Texas Roadhouse and a picture on a bulletin board in the school.

We have now started Positive Staff Referrals for staff.  Any student, parent or other staff member can recognize a staff member for the referral.  The staff member receives a treat from the office, a picture on a bulletin board and, if they would like, a positive phone call home (Our first recipient had me call her husband).  Please take some time to fill out a referral form for a staff member and turn it into the office.

Challenge–Please have your student answer the following and send me/bring me the answer for a special treat:     What can you do to show people you care about them?

We hope that you and your family have a safe, fun, and restful Winter Break.

A message from the office

Hello Earhart Families!

Can you believe it’s already December? Time sure snowflakes by!

We’re sliding into the last few weeks of 2025 with lots of excitement and festive fun. Our Holiday Spirit Week will take place the week before winter break (Dec. 15th - 19th) and will be packed with themed days, activities, and cheerful surprises for both students and staff.

Monday 12/15– Merry Morning Pajama Day: Roll out of bed and come cozy! Wear your favorite PJs

Tuesday 12/16– Treat Yourself Tuesday: Wear your favorite holiday socks or accessories.

Wednesday 12/17– Winter Wonderland White-Out: Dress in all white or snow-themed gear.

Trim the Tree Thursday 12/18: Wear green and decorate yourself with holiday accessories like garland, bows, or ornaments (safe for school!).

Friday 12/19– Festive Friday: Wear your best (or ugliest!) holiday sweater and show your school spirit before we head into break.

You’re invited to our Winter Parties on December 18th from 2:45–3:30 PM!

To help us keep the event safe and organized, all visitors must sign up in advance. On the day of the party, visitors will check in with staff at the front doors. Check-in tables will be organized alphabetically by last name.

Because classroom space is limited, we ask that families limit the number of visitors. Anyone who has not signed up ahead of time will need to check in at the office before going to classrooms.

If you plan to take your student home after the party, please sign them out with their teacher. Only individuals listed in Skyward may take students home unless prior arrangements are made before December 18th.

If a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or other family member will be attending in place of a parent/guardian, please include them on the signup form.

Please complete your signup by December 15, 2025. Late signups will not be accepted.

Thank you for helping us make this a safe and enjoyable event!

Just a reminder: School will be out for Winter Break from December 22nd through January 5th. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th.

Bundle up, enjoy the magic of the season, and thank you for helping make this semester such a wonderful one.

Happy Holidays!

Flu Season Is Here!

With flu season already starting, now is the best time to practice some simple healthy habits to help keep everyone feeling their best:
Wash your hands often-especially before eating and after using the restroom. Sneeze or cough into your elbow or a tissue Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.

Did You Know?
The flu spreads faster in winter — but not because of the cold! Cold air dries out your nasal passages, and people spend more time indoors, which helps the virus spread. The influenza virus also survives longer in cool, dry air. Keep humidifiers running and open your windows every couple of days to get some fresh air circulating!

Common Flu Symptoms (Symptoms often come on suddenly.)

  • Fever and chills  Headache

  • Sore throat and cough

  • Body aches and feeling exhausted

Remember the 24-Hour Rule:
Students must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.
