A message from Mrs. Hay

Greetings Earhart Families:

The fourth quarter is here!  Thank you so much for participating in the PTO sponsored fundraiser.  We raised over $20,000–that is AMAZING! Ms.Carney also raised over $5000 for the Kids Heart Challenge. 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students will be participating in state assessments this month. The dates for these assessments are included in this newsletter.  We will have an Earhart Service Day on April 25th-more information will be coming soon for this school wide event.

Our character trait for the month is Courage. Courage means standing strong together in the face of challenges, whether big or small. It's about facing fears and uncertainties with resilience and unity and fostering a supportive environment where everyone can grow and learn.  Check out the parent resources from Capturing Kids’ Hearts.

Attendance in school is so important.  Missing just two days a month adds up to 18 days a school year-which is like missing a whole month of school.  Did you know that, starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school. Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read. If you need any help or support with student attendance and tardies, please reach out to the school to see how we can help.

A message from the office

Please make sure you are calling or emailing the office and or teachers with any transportation changes. This helps keep dismissal safe for everyone. Please make all transportation changes before or NO LATER than 3:30. For safety reasons, if you are picking your student up from the office, please do so before 3:45. After 3:45 you will be directed to the car line.

If your student will be absent, please email or call the office to have the absence excused.

As we enter the 4th quarter and approach the end of the year more parents and grandparents may come to eat lunch with their child. Students can choose one friend to sit with them at the guest tables with their parent/guest. We have many students with allergies so for safety & health reasons we cannot allow non-relatives to bring in food for another student. If you want to bring lunch for another student - the students parent must contact the office via email to let us know that another parent is bringing them lunch.

Payments for Lunch / Fee's / Library Books can be made in the office with check, or exact cash. Adult Guest lunch is $4.75 & Child Guest lunch is $2.75. If you are planning to come eat a school lunch with your student, you must pay for the lunch that day in exact cash or check at the office.

Welcome to Spring time! I am so glad to finally have warmer weather and so much sunshine, these kiddos sure needed to get their outdoor recess back! Some fun facts about the benefits of sunlight. The most beneficial link is the obvious Vitamin D exposure, the sun also helps to boost mood, increases energy, and helps us sleep better at night. I sure know that I feel in a much better mood when I get more outdoor time! Let's put down those devices and get yourself outside!

Counselor Corner

We are excited to focus on Courage this month! One way to think about Courage is “choosing what is helpful, right, and kind even when it is hard or scary.” Courage can look a little different for everyone. Get ready to explore as a family what Courage means to you!

These students who demonstrate teamwork and kindness were honored with a Cooperation Character Trait Award. Their ability to work together, listen to others, and support their classmates made them stand out as role models.
